Roy Hansen

Mike was a member of our gang whose loose-knit membership was confined to South Western Teaneck, bordered by Bogota, River Road, Cedar Lane and the tracks.  We behaved the way that 12 year olds did back in the 60's; We we wrestled with each other, cursed alot and cut class.  I always preferred to have Mike on my side so I volunteered to do the 6th Grade science project with him.  We built a volcano out of paper machete (sp) in his kitchen, on the dining room table.  His Mom was really nurturing and his dad seemed strict, but OK.

Mike and I were Boy Scouts in Troop 92, based in the Community Church on Elm Ave, that met on Monday nights at 7:30 PM.  We went to NoBeBosCo the weekend the day after JFK was shot.   We were totally in shock and Mike and his brother Billy even got into a little tustle, which could have been a result of the effect of that trajedy.

Mike remains in my memory now and forever.
